Projects
Here at Play & Discover ELC we are always working towards offering the highest quality education to the children as we possibly can. Currently we are working on improving the playground for the children. We spend as much time outdoors as we possibly can; as time spent in nature is vital to a child’s growth and well-being.
Some of the benefits of connecting children with nature are:
- Build physically healthy children. By running, jumping, climbing, etc. they work on their large motor skills, the aerobic exercise that occurs when they are doing these physical tasks helps to lower the rates of childhood obesity.
- Unstructured outdoor play also allows children to build social and cognitive skills as well. They take turns, problem solve, make up games, etc. These are all necessary for a child’s interactions and learning throughout their lives.
- Children learn through their senses. For example, stopping to smell flowers can engage a child’s sense of sight, smell and touch.
- Happier and a better immune system. Sunshine is a good source of Vitamin D and stimulates a part of our brain that strengthen our immune system.
We are excited to make some much needed upgrades to the playground.
